ADVANCED RETORT OPERATIONS TRAINING

Overview

Emergency or unforeseen situations, such as power failures, faults resulting in low processing temperatures or “short timings” etc. can sometimes lead to Retort Standard Procedures not being correctly followed. This can result in an unsafe product.

The Advanced Retort Operations Course equips relevant Personnel with the ability to perform necessary calculations to determine whether Product Safety Standards have been met and what further processing is necessary to ensure the safety of products.

Aim:

• To equip participants with the skills to identify and deal with deviations from Standard Retort Operating Procedures and to take appropriate remedial action to ensure that the product is safely produced.

Benefits:

At the conclusion of the course participants will:

• Be familiar with retort emergency situations that could result in an unsafe product being produced.
• Be able to perform the necessary calculations to assess whether a product has met the safety requirements despite the process deviation.
• Be able to determine the additional processing requirements necessary to ensure the unsafe product is made safe.
